It was exactly ten years ago that the permanent exhibition, "The Grassalkovich Era" was opened in the Royal Palace of Gödöllő. Today we are glad to announce that there is a new permanent exhibition on display in the Gisella wing, which has been restored thanks to European Union funding. The exhibition recalls the days spent in Gödöllo by the royal children, King Charles IV and the Horthy family. It also presents the military commander-in-chief’s bedroom from the communist era of Hungary as well as the residence and the Soviet military base.

Thus the Palace Theatre is the oldest operating stone theatre in Hungary. The baroque theatre, which has seating facilities for 100 guests, operated on a temporary basis, and performances were held only when the prince’s court was in residence in Gödöllö.
