DEHRR project - Spring Day for Europe (action 3)
Dates : Spring 2011
Target : underprivileged youngsters with fewer educational opportunities
Action : Young visitors are invited to learn about royal residences and their environment through educational games and activities. These activities aim to arouse a sense of responsibility for their national cultural heritage, and in doing so, encourage their cultural citizenship. This event will enable these youngsters to learn about places they would never otherwise have had access to and contribute to the fight against inequality, educational failure and exclusion. The European dimension will be expressed through the themes explored and the teaching methods.
Programmes and results
Enhancing the regular cultural offer of the residences, these workshops welcomed about 2500 youngsters. The conception of these programmes allowed collaboration between residences staffs and creativity expression, strengthening the links previously created during the previous actions of the project. Youngsters become familiar with this common European cultural and architectural legacy.
