The ARRE members have built up a project of professional mobility Sharing Skills in Europe (SSE) supported by the European Leonardo da Vinci programme

Sharing Skills in Europe gives royal residence staff members the possibility of working for a given duration (2 to 12 weeks) in another palace-museum belonging to the ARRE. This initiative is in line with the European context which promotes transnational mobility of cultural staff. It provides staff with the opportunity to gain an insight into the museological culture of the host country and helps to develop cooperation between European palace museums.  SSE contributes to increasing staff members’ qualifications; to maintaining know-how in specialised technical areas, and to encouraging the transfer of experience and good practices.

Agnieszka Laudy, microbiologist at and an employee of Conservation Department in Wilanow Palace Museum (Poland) had a chance to spend 4 weeks in one of the Historic Royal Palaces in UK - beautiful Hampton Court Palace (HCP). The secondment was based on the Leonardo da Vinci exchange program for professionals and took place in July 2011. Placement’s topic was divided in two parts: first was the attendance of research projects in Scientific Laboratory and the second part was focused on preventive conservation strategies in Conservation and Collection Care Department.

Within the framework of the DEHRR project, a teachers meeting was organised by the team of the Educational department of the Palace of Versailles on the “European royal residences”.

Two Polish colleagues, Julia Dobrzańska and Katarzyna Liwak, came to present and make discover in music the Palace of Wilanόw and its gardens. About forty teachers of the “académie de Versailles” attended.

Monika Buraczynska, an employee of Education Department in Wilanow Palace Museum, discovered Hampton Court Palace (HCP), one of the Historic Royal Palaces, during her Leonardo da Vinci one-month placement in February 2011. Placement’s topic was accessibility of HCP, especially education events, for people with all kinds of impairment.

Palais national de Mafra

 

From the 7th of February to the 4th of March 2011, Konrad Pyzel (Wilanow Palace) took part in a training placement under the Sharing Skills in Europe project supported by the Leonardo da Vinci programme. His internship took place in Mafra National Palace (Portugal).
