The ARRE General Assembly will take place in the Royal Palace of Gödöllő on 23th and 24th May, 2013.

Meeting “Schönbrunn – Wilanów. An Exchange of Best Practices between the Royal Residences”

Meeting Schönbrunn – Wilanów

A seminar took place in Polish Academy of Science – Research Station in Vienna, in which Polish conservators and scientists representing Schloss Schönbrunn and Wilanów Palace Museum took part.
Schoenbrunn Wilanow Research and conservatory achievements concerning the conservation and reconstruction of wall decorations made of various types of fabric in royal apartments in Wilanów palace and Schloss Schönbrunn were presented, as well as challenges to be faced by the teams responsible for preventive, that is precautionary, conservation. It includes microbiological research, analysis of pollution of the internal environment as well as the analysis of light and the choice of modern types of lighting, safe for the priceless works of art.

Seminar Schoenbrunn Wilanow

Another subject of the seminar was utilizing the Geographic Information System as a tool for effective management of historic buildings, particularly monitoring the condition of elevations of historic residences, and the analysis of risks that should be prevented.      

 

Technical Meeting, Hampton Court Palace, United Kingdom

 

In 2014, will be celebrated the 300th anniversary of the succession of the family of Hanoverian family to becoming monarchs of Great Britain. The technical meeting will provide an opportunity for the ARRE members to prepare the future cultural offer for the visitors.

Technical Meeting, New Palace, Potsdam, Germany

 

The Potsdam technical meeting will be an opportunity for ARRE members' participants to discover the Friederisiko exhibition on Frederic the Great. They will learn in detail how the exhibition has been organised and what the expectations of the German colleagues are of this substantial event. Not only the content will be discussed, but the difficulty involved in organising a temporary exhibition in a palace: display cases, hygrometric conditions, security rules, scenography, technical aspects and visitor expectations…
